Well~ Another year has gone by and that means another weekend spent pretending I'm someone else with quite possibly over 20,000 other people...That's right, it was SakuraCon again~ XD;
This year I went with a couple friends and the mother and sister of one of them~ We just commuted to and from, which was nice because it meant I'd actually get sleep~
Friday was fairly short since there wasn't much going on that we wanted to go to....The 4 hours spent in the registration line was hell though... x.x; Things were okay until we hit the final room and stopped moving for nearly three hours with little air flow.. D; I wound up nearly passing out twice because of that...I can't handle heat very well and my Squall cosplay wasn't really helping..
Wound up talking to a few really nice people while waiting which made standing there not so bad~ :3 And of course as soon as it was open and we were all out of line, we hit the dealer's hall and I got my 7th foxtail from the Fur Connection, a nice $20 katana for my Saurday cosplay, and the Dissidia Squall Play Arts figure...Which was the most expensive thing I got all weekend..x.x;
Saturday was a blast~ :3 It was great running around as Captain Ukitake all day and the weather was just beautiful~ ^-^ People really enjoyed my outfit and one of the highlights of the day was the group of Bleach cosplayers that came over and greeted me in-character~ Even got a pic with them-> i39.tinypic.com/1hxopd.jpg If any of you are on DA and find this, I just want to say you three were awesome and it made me smile to see how happy you all were to see me, hope to see you all next year~ XD A little before 4pm, I got into the big Bleach photoshoot and found even more really nice people who were glad to help me up and off the fountain we were all standing on...It was a little scary though that the Hetalia group behind us were starting to outnumber us.. 8D; I also ran into a Resurreccion Grimmjow who let me pet their ears.. =w= That made me giggle~ Because of the timing of the photoshoot, I wound up only seeing the tail-end of Steve Blum's Q&A panel, but made it in time to get the autograph ticket and after that was another line.. 8D; Three hours this time, but found more nice people to talk to while we waited and watched a couple fur-suiters dancing to Don't Stop Believing~ XD;
Sunday was another short day, but I got to hang out with a friend I hadn't seen for a while which was nice~ XD; I think I also may have made someone's day by recognizing who they dressed as...It makes me a little sad to know there's not many people who know Treize from Gundam Wing anymore.. T^T
Looking forward to next year where I might have the shikai form of Ukitake's sword and really hoping to see all the nice people I talked to this year again~

XD; I'm sure by now some of my stalkers have noticed the random change in the types of things I've been submitting~
I've been having fun making things recently via sewing or playing with clay...even if it does hurt my hands sometimes..XD;
Sewing tends to put the most strain on my hands because I hand stitch everything... 8D I don't trust sewing machines and I don't think the one we have at my house would like going through four layers of thick fur...XD; I know I don't.. But it's also pretty relaxing since when I get going, I tend to blank out on everything else around me. :3
Playing with clay is a little easier on me, but I have to keep my nails trimmed so I don't put nicks in the clay as I work on it. XD It's pretty fun watching things I sketched out become 3D and it's even more fun playing with the glazes to make awesome effects. Each glaze color does something different when you layer it over another color~ Especially when you put two different glaze types together. :3
Anyway~ There's bound to be more of this stuff in the future, so keep a look out..XD

Four Days of Geekdom

Well~ SakuraCon was fun as always but holy crap am I sore..@_@ I will now try to summarize the last four days...events may not be typed up in order...>>;
Thursday was pretty tame for the most part...took a bit to get into the hotel due to the name of the person who it was switched over to after some issues not being done completely, but we eventually got settled and got out staff badges. :3 I finally was able to get my custom pic on mine. XD I think it was a little after this that we went to the staff autograph session where I got siggys from the VA for Batou from Ghost in the Shell and the VAs for Nina Tucker and Greed from FMA..Envy's VA was there again and said she was scared of Kyle-Kitty since he was dressed as Ed at the time..XD
At some point during the day, me and my friend met up with the rest of our friends from Staff Preservation to move the buttload of Wired into the room we'd be feeding people in along with two of our non-staff friends...and they started singing random songs...mostly the 'What do You do With a Drunken Sailor' song and at one point 'Tribute'...which is really hard to sing along to when a few folks are a wee off-key. ;3 We did eventually get the task done with a few rides on the dolly(sp?) thing in-between loads of stuff...XD
Friday I wound up working the lunch shift with the friend I was sharing the hotel room with..which was kinda special since at first we only had drinks, Cup-o-Noodle, bread and mayo...>>; Eventually we got more real food and I felt a little like Squall being stuck on lunchroom duty..XD After a while, we started getting giant microwaveable lasagnas made up...I never knew Costco lasagnas tasted so good. :3 I kept stealing some for myself..XD At some point during this shift however...D: I found out that there was an Ultimecia running around the con and since I was dressing as Squall, I was sad that I was never able to find her myself...T.T Oh well...maybe she'll be back next year.
Anyways...after my shift was over, my friend and I booked it to get to the autograph signing for Troy Baker..which I had only found out was there the day before...so I wasn't fully prepared since the only reason I wanted to see him was because he voices Snow in FF13..who's been added to my collection of favorite FF boys and it was in that line where I found the first Snow cosplay of the weekend.. :3 He did a good job and i got a pictue of him...but sadly I didn't have anything Snow related for Troy to sign...but since he also played Archer from FMA,he got added to the FMA siggy collection I started on Kyle-Kitty's Ed coat...where he signed the sleeve and wrote EEEVIL!!! on it too.. 8D Troy was such a nice guy though when I told him that I wished that I had had the Snow figure so he could sign the box and said that if I got it and found him again, that he'd try to sign it for me. I can't really remember too much of what happened after that, but my friend and I run into the two non-staff friends again one of which wasn't having the best of days due to a five and a half hour wait in the Registration line, no one being able to recognize his cosplay(he was a character from Galaxy Railways..forgot the name though.. Sorry Admiral), and finding out that a dance he was hoping to go to was going on already and was only for that night...so I let him huggle Kyle-Kitty for a while. :3 Then we went off to watch anime......Strike Witches is crack on a screen...My friends were counting panty shots..>>; And that was followed by Evageleion(sp?)...which wasn't any less cracky..XD And I think that's all we did that day.
Saturday...what all did I do on Saturday? I think I spent the first part of the day running around the dealer's hall with the Admiral, a friend most of mine call 'Baka', and the girl I was going to work the dinner shift with. We stopped at the kimono stall first so the girl could get the obi for her Ritsu(Fruits Basket and I think that was the character's name) tied right since none of us knew how to do it...velcro ftw! XD After that, me and the Admiral went off to search for my main goal...the Snow figure...which we found...and I squealed and jumped for joy when I saw it...which is a very amusing sight considering I was dressed as Squall...so I got the figure then went to buy another fox tail to add to my collection..five down four to go. :3 I think after that, me and my shift buddy went back to the hotel room to relax before the dinner shift.
...Dinner shift...I never wanna see chili or four cheese raviolis ever again...D< It really sucked that the room the Staff Pres room was actually in only had one working burner...so we had to cook the sauce for the ravis in the storage room..which was a little annoying...and then one of the raviolis slipped off the spoon I was using to serve them and plopped on my hand before sliding off onto the floor..D: I got a pretty nasty burn from it that bothered me for the rest of the night. [Scene Missing] I can't really recall how it happened, but my shift buddy and I wound up back in the hotel room with the Admiral where I switched into what I was hoping to wear for the dance(random five tailed fox) and then me and the Admiral went back to the con center..D: It was frikkin' cold wearing a halter top and a skort when it was raining and I didn't bring a coat with me for that...Since I was under the impression that my friends and I would be going to the dance after the minors were booted out, me and the Admiral decided to go watch the cosplay chess for a bit before going to watch animes for a while..where I wound up staying since my friends where watching anime until around 2:30am or so...;.; no dance for me this year but I did get to meet DJ Hellsing, one of the high up staffers for GaiaOnline...I liked his tie and gave him a hug. :3
x.x Sunday...Sundays are always fun due to having to get one's crap together to check out of the hotel...After that was all taken care of and our crap was in a safe place me and my shift buddy skuttered off to get to the autograph sessions for Wrath's(FMA) VA and the VA for Allen Walker(D. Grayman), both of which I got and then it was off to wrangle the Admiral for a panel that Troy was doing in hopes of being able to talk to him at the end of it since he voiced someone in Galaxy Railways and so I could try to get my Snow figure box signed...while the panel was fun(Troy and Vic Mignogna were being disruptive), I wasn't able to catch Troy at the end because he had to rush off to catch a plane...so I'm really hoping he'll be back next year..;.; which would be fun since I'm hoping to dress as Serah(Snow's fiancee)..XD
So I had a fun weekend and realized that with how much I let my ego inflate(I like to think of myself as the best Squall at con..XD), that I could prolly pull of a good Seifer cosplay...I'd just have to decide whether to make the actual outfit or make a more female version. ;3 Either would be fun and I'd have to find a version of Hyperion that I don't need a sheath for. I think all my future cosplays are going to wind up being Final Fantasy related..XD And I do believe I'll be helping Staff Pres again next year...despite the burn I got, I had fun feeding people..^-^ and the staff really appreciated it~

Once more I'm updating this due to getting another 1k pageviews... 8D Thanks for the views folks and I promise that I will post new stuff soon...got some sewing projects and some clay projects to put up as soon as I get good pics and resize them on the upstairs comp.. X3
It is also that time of year where I put on my Squall outfit and go kick some arse...in other words... 8D It's time for SakuraCon yet again and I'm gonna be running around if the fluffy coat yet again~ After con is over and I have some good pics, I'll put up Kyle-Kitty's newest cosplay....that damned cat has more outfits than I do...>>;
I'm really hoping that someone in the dealer's hall will be carrying Snow(FF13) figures...>3< He's my main goal this year along with Serah's necklace and earrings if I can find them and won't have to sell a spare soul to get them.. 8D;
